The Diversity Solutions workshop is based on practical real-life experiences in implementing diversity management solutions in over 115 public- and private-sector organizations and best practices for diversity improvement and management. The Diversity Solutions workshop defines the impact of diversity in a competitive world economy and presents a broader definition of diversity to include culture, race, ethnic origin, economic status, skills, talents, profession, geography, gender, sexual preference, age, disability, language, and religion. The Diversity Solutions workshop is designed to assist human resource professionals, diversity managers, and all levels of leaders and managers to develop and implement organizational leadership solutions, personal diversity solutions, and public solutions to move toward full productivity throughout their workforce. Participants will learn implementable strategies to assist them with tough issues such as multiculturalism, sexual orientation, religious practices, disabilities and racism in various forms (overt, covert and subtle). Participants will leave with world-class solutions, resources, tools, and diversity-based best practice examples. Diversity Solutions workshops are offered in one to three day formats. The ten major diversity categories that must be addressed by individuals, teams, work-units, communities, organizations and nations operating in a competitive world economy are presented, as well as a comprehensive definition and world view of diversity. 2:30 - 4:00 Module Four: Personal Diversity Solutions
This module provides tools and techniques for understanding, accepting, tolerating and celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of individuals, while promoting unity among people and organizations. Through acceptance, recognition and affirmation of diversity within the workplace, each individual: 1) fosters personal individuality and growth, 2) strengthens personal ability to respond to challenges, and 3) improves service to customers, organizations, communities and society at large. This module provides tools and strategies for affecting individual ethics, beliefs and values, cultural awareness, relationship building, comfort zones and home environment. Attributes and characteristics are also presented.
